After receiving a bachelor’s degree from Utah State University in Civil Engineering and completing the coursework for a master’s degree (completed in 2000) in Civil Engineering with a Geotechnical Engineering emphasis, Martin has been practicing Geotechnical Engineering since 1999. He has participated in a wide variety of projects including transportation, flood control, pipeline, high-rise, commercial, industrial, mining, and residential projects. He has been the Geotechnical and Environmental Department Manager for NOVA Geotechnical & Inspection Services since October 2013 and has been practicing in the Las Vegas Valley since 2000.
Naik Banavathu, P.E.

Naik is currently a Principal Engineer in the Las Vegas office of Ninyo & Moore Geotechnical and Environmental Sciences Consultants. He graduated from University of Texas at Arlington with a Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering and has more than 14 years of professional experience providing geotechnical engineering services for municipal, federal, military, and private sector projects. He has directed the geotechnical aspects of a large variety of engineering projects, including solar plants, pump stations, pipelines, reservoirs, waste-water collection and treatment facilities, storm water channels and detention basins, bridges, roadways, park and recreational facilities, commercial and municipal developments, and other infrastructure.
~Naik is registered as a Professional Civil Engineer in Nevada and is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), Society of American Military Engineers (SAME), and American Public Works Association (APWA).
Raul V. Valdez, P.E.*

Raul is currently a senior engineer with the Department of Aviation at McCarran Airport. He has worked on a variety of design projects throughout the southwestern United States ranging from water/wastewater pumping stations, infrastructure rehabilitation, large diameter sewer interceptors, water distribution pipelines, and flood control facilities. Born and raised in Las Vegas, he graduated from UNLV with a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering in 2007. He has been heavily involved with the American Public Works Association (APWA) spring conference planning committee since 2011.
~During his free time, Raul enjoys spending time with family and playing soccer with his daughter.
Robert Aytes, P.E.
Southwest Gas Corporation
Robert is a native of Las Vegas and a graduate of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. He also earned his Master of Business from the University of Phoenix and currently holds a professional license in Civil Engineering. In his twenty plus years of experience, he has excelled in various fields of engineering including electrical, theater automation, civil land development and natural gas. His work has taken him to the four corners of the United States along with Mexico. He has had the privilege to work on a wide array of projects including a multi-billion dollar land development project in Las Vegas, a sixty-foot wide video board high atop Time Square New York, and a multi-million dollar redesign of a natural gas pressure limiting station. Currently, Robert works for Southwest Gas Corporation in Las Vegas where he manages the movement of up to 200 BCF of natural gas annually for Southwest Gas customers in three states.

Rosaura Gallagher, E.I.
Clark County Water Reclamation District
Rosaura is a project manager for the Clark County Water Reclamation District Engineering Department. She has worked for CCWRD Engineering since June 2014. She graduated from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas with bachelor’s degrees in civil engineering and applied physics. She has more than 25 years of experience in the planning, design and construction of water and wastewater utility infrastructure, sustainable LEED design, and is a Certified Construction Manager. Prior to CCWRD, she worked for the Las Vegas Valley Water District, which included sustainable design and construction as a project manager for the Las Vegas Springs Preserve.

Sandy Solares, P.E.
Sandy is part of the Geotechnical and Environmental Services team working as a Project Engineer. She is currently the Project Manager on the CCWRD Secondary Treatment Expansion Preloading Project and has also been involved with the CCWRD Expansion Masterplan Predesign phase. She works on CCSD, public works, and commercial construction management projects as well as geotechnical design projects. She has a background in Land Development after working for 4 years at Westwood, formerly Slater Hanifan Group. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Nevada Las Vegas where she was also part of the Honors College. Sandy loves the outdoors and enjoys hiking and running. On her free time, Sandy also likes to volunteer and is an advocate for children in foster care with the Clark County CASA (Couth Appointed Special Advocate) Program.

Trisha Nakakura, E.I.
Trisha is currently an engineer with Atkins Global in the Water Infrastructure group. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She works on various design projects throughout the Las Vegas Valley and southwestern region of the United States. Her project experience ranges from utility coordination, water distribution pipelines and facilities, wastewater pump stations, sanitary sewer conveyance, stormwater sampling, and roadway utility design. Fun Facts: Trisha was born and raised on Oahu, Hawaii. She loves to travel, especially to Disney World. She also has a passion for escape rooms.
